GoÉire Privacy Policy

GoÉire ("the App") is developed by Oluwadamilola Adebayo. This policy explains what data the App collects, why it is collected, and the choices available to you.

Location Data

The App requests access to your device's location to display nearby transit stops and enable compass navigation. Your precise location is processed on your device and is not stored on our servers or sent to our analytics provider.

Transit Data

The App fetches real-time transit information from public transport data sources through our backend service, Supabase. Requests are used to provide departures and live map information.

Feedback and Reports

If you submit feedback or a bug report, the category and text you provide are sent to our backend. No account information is attached, but you should avoid including personal information in the message.

Optional Anonymous Analytics

With your permission, the App uses PostHog Cloud EU to collect anonymous product analytics. Analytics are disabled until you choose to allow them. You can change your choice at any time under Settings > Anonymous Analytics.

The analytics data may include:

• App lifecycle events, such as opening or returning to the App;
• General feature interactions, such as opening search, viewing a stop, changing a transport filter, or starting bus tracking;
• A potential ad impression event when space for a possible future top banner remains available, including the placement, screen, and measurement interval; and
• A randomly generated anonymous installation identifier and basic technical information such as app version, operating system, and device type.

Analytics events do not include your precise location, selected stop names or codes, saved stop names, routes, destinations, feedback text, advertising identifier, name, or email address. Session replay is not enabled. The App currently does not display ads; potential ad impressions only estimate how often a future placement could have been visible.

PostHog processes this information on EU-hosted infrastructure for the purpose of measuring audience size, understanding feature usage, and improving the App. Analytics data is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Consent and Your Choices

Choosing “Not Now” does not affect the App's functionality. If you later disable anonymous analytics in Settings, future analytics collection stops. You may enable it again at any time.

Service Providers and Data Sharing

We use Supabase to operate backend features and PostHog Cloud EU to provide optional analytics. These providers process data on our behalf. We do not sell your personal data, share analytics data with data brokers, or use it for cross-app advertising.

Data Retention and Security

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the App, analyze usage, and meet legal obligations. We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
